It has been six months since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Since then, thousands of Americans have died from gun violence, the casualties grow every day, and there has been no action from Congress to pass what the majority of Americans support – universal background checks to save lives and make our communities safer.

Today marks six months since the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Despite over 6,000 Americans being murdered with guns since, the protests of millions and the fact that 90% of Americans Congress to expand background checks to make us safer from gun violence, nothing has changed in Washington. 

But can you blame them? Pro-gun advocates make twice as many calls to Congress as we do. To enact real change, we have to make our voices heard.

Maximum-Security Felon: Thanks NRA For Helping Criminals Get Guns!
Gary W. Bornman, a felon being held in a federal “Supermax” prison in Colorado, penned an op-ed on Thursday thanking the National Rifle Association for killing a bipartisan gun bill to expand background checks earlier this year. Bornman, who is serving a 20-year sentence for bank robbery, wrote to the Hartford Courant explaining how easy it would be for him to get a gun even though he is legally banned from buying one...
